Painting for Pleasure exhibits as part of Warwickshire Open Studios

Thanks to funding from the Coventry Building Society Small Fund, Painting for Pleasure is excited to take part in Warwickshire Open Studios for the very first time.

The funding has enabled us to invest in materials, deliver a cyanotype workshop, and provide creative activities that benefit all our members, supporting our aim to make art accessible, enjoyable, and inspiring for everyone involved.

Our exhibition theme is Floral, featuring a colourful collection of paintings alongside cyanotypes — one of the earliest photographic printing techniques, which uses sunshine to develop striking blue-toned images.

We will be exhibiting at The Gallery at the Dentists as part of the Leamington Trail. The venue is located opposite St Paul's Church.

Exhibition Details

  • Venue: The Gallery at the Dentists, 20 Leicester Street, Leamington Spa, CV32 4TD
  • Exhibition Area: Reception and hallway
  • Opening Times: 9am–1pm and 2pm–5pm daily
  • Closed: Saturdays and Sundays
  • Accessibility: Please note there are steps up to the venue.

We warmly invite visitors to come along, enjoy the exhibition, and discover the beautiful floral-inspired work created by our members.

Christmas Tree Festival 2025

Our tree is called ‘The Useful Tree’ — because everything on it has a purpose.

We celebrate the festive season together by hand-painting Christmas cards, a cherished Christmas tradition, and decorating baubles inspired by imagination and creativity.

Come and view the Festival in the beautiful Parish Church setting. We would love it if you voted for our tree.

Painting for Pleasure Art Exhibition at Coffee Break

Dates: Thursday 27th and Friday 28th June
Location: Coffee Break, 12 Royal Priors, Upper Mall, Leamington Spa, CV32 4XT

Join us for a captivating display of creativity at the Painting for Pleasure art exhibition, hosted at Coffee Break in the Royal Priors on the 27th and 28th of June. This special event showcases the artistic talents of members from the Painting for Pleasure charity, a dedicated group in Leamington Spa that provides a creative outlet for disabled individuals, those living with or recovering from illness, and carers seeking respite and connection.

The exhibition will feature an array of artworks, including drawings, paintings, and beautiful silk paintings. These pieces are not only a testament to the artistic skills of the group members but also reflect their personal journeys and the therapeutic benefits of creative expression. Many of the works are inspired by a recent visit to the Makers through the Ages exhibition at Compton Verney.

Painting for Pleasure is more than just an art group; it is a supportive community that combats isolation and fosters well-being through art. This exhibition is a celebration of their collective efforts and the joy that comes from creating and sharing art.

We invite you to come and experience this inspiring collection, support the artists, and learn more about the valuable work of Painting for Pleasure. Your presence and encouragement mean a lot to the artists and contribute to the vibrant community spirit of Leamington Spa.

Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Painting for Pleasure meets on a Wednesday during school term time at the Westbury Centre. Sessions are 9.30 to 12 noon and 1pm to 3.30pm. New members welcome. Phone 07767015428 for more details.
